Study Abroad Junk Journals and Collage
While studying abroad at Freie Universität Berlin, FU-BEST program in Spring 2026 I made a junk journal page for each most of the places that I visited. Additionally, I made a scroll collage post of my overall time in Berlin. I used Canva for both of these sets of images. I had a lot of fun creating both the physical and digital representations of my experience.
Scroll Story Project (VIS 207)
Challenge: Design a web-first digital publication to tell visual stories in the scroll story format. This must include an infographic and interactive elements.
Solution: Using Figma, I made this story about Waterloo Records, a beloved record store in my hometown of Austin, TX. With the news of the store moving locations, I wanted to make a scroll story about its history, including a section for a mock store and a contact page. The article was written by ChatGPT AI, as the purpose of this assignment was to practice designing a scroll story and web page.
Social Design Project (VIS 207)
Challenge: Create a single image poster along with 5-6 additional supporting carousel slides that provide explanation of a chosen topic. Create this with a combination of type and image montage as a design solution. At least one of the slides needs to include an original data-backed infographic.
Solution: Using Adobe, I created a social media carousel about accessibility in the entertainment industry. This is an area of the music industry that I am very interested in and passionate about. I wanted to create an interesting way to look at different data points and information, and something that viewers wanted to continue to read.
